Porchlight

Privacy policy

Last updated November 1, 2026

Porchlight is for sharing family photos, often of children, so privacy comes first. We don't show ads, we don't track you, and we don't sell your information.

What we collect

We remove location (GPS) information from photos before they are uploaded. We don't use analytics services that collect personal data.

Who can see what you share

Only the current members of a circle can see what's shared in it. The database enforces this, and photos never have public links. They are shown through private links that expire within an hour.

People in your circle can save photos to their own phones. We can't remove those saved copies.

How we use your information

We use it only to run Porchlight: to sign you in, show your circle's posts, send the notifications you've chosen, and help when you ask for support.

Services that help run Porchlight

These companies handle information only as needed to provide their service:

We may disclose information if the law requires it.

Your choices

Children

Accounts are for people 13 and older. Adults may share photos of their children in a private circle. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in an important way, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app.
